How much longer will this guy be around?" - 3/17/2013

"Wow... disturbingly obvious, the "self-reviews". Just look up the records. NOSEDIVE doesn't begin to describe. 0-11, 0-11. How could you SPIN that?
-ANSWER- Read some of the trumped up reviews.
CUCKOO!!!!!!!!!!!" - 11/22/2012

"Instead of trying to improve the Wake Forest tennis program by recruiting or working on his players' games, he is on this website writing fake reviews about himself to preserve his own image. Nice try "Coach" Jeff! This guy prides himself on his education (as he states countless times in the 15 reviews that he posted ABOUT HIMSELF), yet that clearly does not make you a successful division 1 tennis coach.
The bottom line is that instead of making excuses for the past 2 and a half years, it would have been more beneficial to be proactive in improving the program....too bad he is incapable of that due to lack of playing and high level coaching experience. Sadly, the program will continue on the decline until this guy's contract is up. I can't wait til his ass is grass for the sake of the WF program." - 11/18/2012

"It is unbelievable to me that I have stumbled upon some negative reviews about Jeff Wyshner.

I played for him earlier on in his coaching career, and to this day I list him as my single biggest influence in my tennis life. I have since made a career out of it, and I owe this to Jeff.

As a coach he was fair, communicated well, and inspired me to be the best player that I could be. I said this at my senior banquet and I'll say it again. He takes a team of players and will absolutely get the most talent out of you that he can. Talent you didn't think existed. He took a program that was going in all the wrong directions, recruited a team and just a short time later we found ourselves winning our conference and traveling to the NCAA tournament. This is all credit to Jeff. He will do what is right for individual players.

He is one of the smartest people that I know and could easily have a career in many other fields, however, his passion for tennis and coaching has kept him in this business.

I would highly recommend Jeff and would love for my future son or daughter to play for someone like him." - 10/31/2012

"I played college tennis for Jeff for 4 years and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He single handedly turned our D1 program around and led our team to the NCAA tournament. Not only does he recruit top talent, but he helps each player become the best player she can be. Jeff is there for his team both on and off the court. He's never too busy to help - whether it's mastering a tennis technique or studying for a math test. He truly cares about each team member and her personal development. I learned so much from Jeff throughout my college career and I respect him a lot, just like he respects all his players. If you have the opportunity to play for Jeff, take it. It was the best decision I made." - 10/27/2012

"I played for Coach Jeff for 2 yrs and thought he was an amazing coach. He took over the team starting my junior year and totally changed the program. We went from a team that did not think we had a chance to win a conference match to being one of the best teams in the conference. The University of Akron women's tennis program is where it is now because of his hard work and dedication to the program.
I would have done anything for him because I know he would have done the same for me. He cares greatly about each and every player on the team and wants to see everyone be the best player that they can be.
He cares more about the sport of tennis than anyone I have ever met. He is passionate about his team and his sport, anyone who says otherwise obviously does not know Jeff. He is an amazing leader, teacher, and coach. He made me a much better player in my 2 years on his team. I learned so much in those 2 years that I cannot thank him enough for.
If all of that didn't say how much he meant to me as a coach, this might: I am now in medical school and have twice taken time out of my insanely busy schedule to drive from West Virginia to Wake Forest and UVA to watch his team play. I would gladly take what little free time that I have to support his teams, even if I don't know any of the players on the team.
Coach Jeff is one of the best coaches in the country and I would gladly tell anyone that asked how great of a coach he is." - 10/24/2012

"I played for coach Jeff Wyshner for 3 years and I have to say that he was an amazing coach and mentor for me as a player. Coach Jeff really inspired me to reach my fullest potential as a player. He built the University of Akron team in 3 years by bringing in solid recruits year in and year out. The team went from being the worst team in the conference to a nationally recognized and Conference winning team in his three years at Akron. I am currently a college coach at a division one University and i would have to accredit my interest in college coaching because of Coach Jeff. Coach Jeff has been a great mentor and role model for me in my career." - 10/24/2012

"This is not only the most passionate man coaching tennis, but a very knowledgeable person as well. Jeff loves his teaching career, and the students that he is working with. He is a mentor for his students, and will even assist them with their studies at college. He cares about each individual, and gives positive feedback. Jeff will never get angry at a player, and is always encouraging. He gets an overall grade of A plus! You can't find a more caring instructor!! He teaches with enthusiasm, a love of the game, and a passion for his team! He made my daughter's 4 years at college, a wonderful memory!" - 10/24/2012

"Jeff Wyshner is the best coach and mentor a college tennis player can have. I am lucky to have had him as a coach for all four of my college years. There isn't another coach out there that cares more about the player's academics as well as their life on and off the court. He went above and beyond his duties of just being a coach. He really cares about his team and takes the time to make sure each player is happy.
His records at each school he has been at should speak for themselves. He takes teams that are last in their conference and turns them into winning teams within a matter of a few years. I was lucky enough to be part of one of his teams that went to the NCAA tournament and it was an experience I will never forget.
If you get a chance to be one of his recruits and play for him - take it!! You will not regret it. He really is an amazing coach and person." - 10/24/2012

"It is quite funny to read those posts saying very unpleasant things about Jeff. If one mother's daughter was not happy with how he managed the program at Wake Forest, while her daughter played there, it is certainly SHOULD NOT serve as a reference for anybody.
I was recruited by Jeff Wyshner after being in a very poorly organized tennis program. He was willing to help me with the transfer (with tons of papers it normally takes to get transferred), offered me a full scholarship, and let me develop my tennis skills to its full potential. He is the best recruiter out there.
Simply consider his success at the University of Akron. He took the team from being the last in the conference to fighting for being named Regular Season Champion!
Jeff is a very smart man, who utilizes all possible resources for his players to succeed on court as well as off court. He has very strong work ethic, and he puts his team before anything else.
My three year playing for Jeff was a very unique and wonderful experience." - 10/24/2012

"It is a shame that there is one parent frustrated by her own daughter's struggles who keeps bad mouthing Coach Wyshner on here under different names. Coach knows about the bad-mouthing but still stood behind the girl. The team dropped from top 25 to out of the NCAA tournament during the 5 years before Coach got to Wake, but we'll see in two years who is right about his ability to coach the team. Coach Wyshner was the best coach I ever had as a tennis player. He turned around the program I played in as well as two others, and he is doing the same at Wake Forest - just check out the job he is doing recruiting wise. I can't imagine another coach who cares more about his players and will go the extra mile for them. He did that for me." - 10/24/2012

"This guy is the laughing stock of the acc" - 10/19/2012

"Very Smart guy that should be a college teacher and not a tennis coach, the entire team thinks he is a coach and should leave Wake Forest the sooner the better" - 8/25/2012

"Complete joke of coach, ruined program at Wake Forest, just look at his record, anyone would be stupid to even respond to a recruiting email or even consider going to play at wake forest for him. lack of knowledge and experience kills his chances at a successful career." - 6/4/2012

"Need someone to teach and look out for your daughter, you've found it in Coach Wyshner. He has been coaching Division I for about 20 years now, and he has been successful in building three programs from the bottom of their DI conferences to the top including one where a top current SEC assistant hadn't been able to have a winning record. His education proves he is smart, and he has used that to learn alot about women's tennis, especially women's doubles where his teams always seem to excel." - 11/4/2011

"Smart person but should have stuck to teaching math, which is something he actually knows something about." - 6/13/2011

"This coach is literally the biggest joke in college tennis. The fact that Akron and now Wake Forest hired this guy is beyond me. He is one of the smartest guys I have ever met, but he literally has no knowledge or experience in the sport of tennis. Jeff's truly elementary views of tennis and complete stubbornness as a human being are nothing but detrimental to any decent collegiate tennis player or team." - 2/20/2011
